2J Commerce is a specialist Magento Enterprise Partner based in Beighton, Sheffield. As a result of rapid growth, we are now looking for an accomplished Project / Account Manager with Agile experience to join our client facing Gateway team.
You should have at least 2-3 years experience working as a client facing Account / Project Manager. If you have a proven background working with Magento e-commerce we would definitely like to see you.
You will be a primary point of contact for our customers and have excellent communication skills in order to deliver Magento E-Commerce projects on time and within budget. Some of our developers are based offshore so your experience in guiding, persuading and managing colleagues at distance would be advantageous. You will need to be a calming influence when the pressure is on and be strong enough to stand your ground when projects threaten to slip or members of your team need to focus on delivering results or develop key skills.
We will be following an LLP business model so you will become a partner in the business and benefit from the success that we all create together. We have recently adopted Agency Agile methodology and will be rolling out Jira across the business. If you bring this level of experience to the table then you will be a prime candidate.
- A Minimum 2-3 years Account / Project Management experience in a client facing role
- Experience of Agile project methodology
- Experience of working with Jira Software (a distinct advantage)
- Experience of working with Magento or similar commerce platforms (a distinct advantage)
- Experience of directly overseeing the work of designers and developers
- Experience of managing remotely located teams (a distinct advantage)
- Ability to effectively deal with conflict and positively overcome obstacles
- Ability to spot new business opportunities, cross-sell and upsell
- Ability to demonstrate good influencing and negotiation skills
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service experience and telephone manner
- Ability to gather requirements, functional specifications and help cost repeat business from existing customers
- Experience of reporting on project status and staff resourcing giving regular updates to customers
- Ability to ensure all customer invoices are administered and reviewed in a timely manner to ensure good cash flows
- Ability to meet and greet all customers visiting us at our offices and ensure they receive a professional welcome
- Ability to demonstrate accurate record keeping and follow up outstanding actions points without delay to keep projects on track
- Ability to get to know your clients extremely well and maintain a positive working relationship often over distance with weekly and daily contact
Scope / Discovery
To lead the project scoping and discovery stage to ensure that all the client project requirements are documented to Jira and Phase 1 functionality is signed off. To use the Business Analyst or your own development resource to evaluate technical functionality where required and estimate effort required.
To agree realistic and achievable sprints with your development team, document these clearly in Jira and review progress daily and deal with issues immediately. To communicate these effectively with customers and ensure the maximum possible sprint success at all times.
Keep Accurate Records / Time Tracking - To keep accurate records and update systems regularly with a key focus on Jira and weekly pulse tracking documentation.
Deliver on Time & Within Budget
To report weekly on your project progress to ensure key milestones are met and the project can be delivered on time. In particularly to ensure that pre-agreed invoice deadlines are met without slippage.
To identify change requests. To determine if the project scope can be amended to accommodate changes and inform all departments accordingly. To clearly state what deliverables are out of scope or will form part of continuous development work. To communicate this effectively with the client.
QA, Warranty & Support Handoff
To ensure that a QA is assigned to all development activity and that robust testing takes place. To capture all issues and bugs following each sprint and during the 30 day warranty and plan additional sprints where required to ensure that a quality project is delivered. Handoff to support at the end of the warranty period before focusing on assessing and delivering future continuous development work.
Client Engagement & Reporting
Client Management & Quarterly Review
In line with your assigned projects to have your own list of key clients for which you are a key point of contact. To manage your clients through stages of active and passive project development. To work with the sales teaming Business Analyst to quote for new work and deliver strategic Quarterly Reviews.
Deliver Weekly Client Pulse Reviews
Each week to call each of your customers and complete a weekly pulse review to measure performance against target and customer satisfaction. To specifically report on client happiness, deliverables on track, payments on track, projected budget, successes, Issues or concerns.
Identify & Generate Repeat Business
To identify and win repeat business / continuous development work that is linked to your project or client with support from the Business Analyst or Sales team. Where appropriate and for smaller deliverables to produce your own estimates and gain go from clients in Jira / Quote Roller. To ensure all new business is tracked and that invoices are issued on time by finance as work is complete.
To be a central point of contact for your own client list and actively measure overall satisfaction. Assign actions or liaise with other departments where required to improve customer service or to address a specific customer issues or questions.
Managing Expectations / Conflict Resolution
To set clear and realistic expectations with customers and colleagues. To identify client dissatisfaction and actively seek to resolve issues quickly. Where required ensure more serious complaints are escalated and resolved in a timely manner.
Forecasting, Planning And Scheduling Capacity - To actively forecast, plan and schedule your workload across the design and development resource available in your team.
Negotiate use of resource
To discuss resource allocation with other project managers and where required negotiate the use of additional resource from other teams to maximise deliverables without obvious impact to the client. A client should only have one Project Manager as their point of contact at any given time.
Time Tracking / Productivity
To ensure all team development time is tracked and make appropriate adjustments to reporting to ensure that we deliver within the agreed number of hours purchased and project timescales agreed.
Magento Knowledge To stay abreast of the latest functionality available in Magento Community & Enterprise editions. To show evidence of training undertaken or knowledge gained or shared with others.
Jira & Story pointing
To stay abreast of the latest functionality in the use of Jira and story pointing and work with your fellow Project Managers to ensure a consistent methodology is followed

Process & Procedure
To review process and procedure regularly with your fellow project managers to ensure a consistent methodology is followed and share ideas for improving how we work.
